We, Grace and Brian, met while volunteering in an animal shelter (NKLA) in Los Angeles back in 2019 and started dating - taking pottery classes together being one of the highlights of our relationship. Immediately falling in love with the craft, we have since continued to put in many hours of work into it - even after eventually having to move to separate studios when Grace graduated from UCLA and returned to Toronto.
We hope to one day close the distance - right now, we stay together as much as possible by splitting our time between Canada and the US!
Daisy
Our goal is to always donate a portion of our sales to animal shelters and wildlife organizations across the US and Canada. The name Daisyo comes from Grace's cat :) Thank you Daisy for inspiring us!!
Grace
Grace designs and paints all Daisyo Studio products. Her art background comes from years of drawing and painting, and a formal education in her high school through a visual arts major program.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Grace lived in Los Angeles for 4 years while studying economics at UCLA. She is now pursuing a career in business while working on Daisyo Studio in her free time with Brian!
Brian
Brian wheel throws all of the Daisyo Studio products, but he just might let Grace on the wheel to throw some pottery herself sometime (emphasis on might... kidding!).
Brian lived in San Diego most of his life. He went to school at UC Irvine and studied Electrical Engineering.
He surprisingly found his first job back in San Diego where he grew up, and then eventually moved to work in Los Angeles for a few years. Now, Brian works as an engineer remotely and got a place in Sacramento to be close to family. With this move, he gets to travel and work freely as an Engineer and as a potter! The Dream!
