I use food safe, restaurant quality glazes that are resistant to crazing, staining, knife marking, scratching, and chipping - so you can keep using your favourite Daisyo coffee cup for many years to come.
After throwing and trimming each piece on the pottery wheel, the pieces get fired at cone 06 for the first time to get ready for the next step - glazing. The tile patterns are all designed on Adobe Illustrator and cut onto adhesive vinyl using a Cameo Silhouette. The stencils are placed on the ceramic pieces and filled in with food safe Coyote and Mayco glazes. Once that is done, painted pieces go into the kiln for the final time at cone 6.
The finished work is thoroughly checked for any possible firing and glazing defects before getting listed on the shop page.
